This specialty blue is making a comeback for spring.
Cerulean has turn out to be extra recognizable in popular culture since Miranda Priestley’s (Meryl Streep) iconic monologue in the 2006 movie, “The Devil Wears Prada.”
Ahead of the sequel’s launch in theaters May 1, Streep and Anne Hathaway, who star within the film, paid homage to the scene through the press tour.
On Wednesday, April 1, Streep appeared on “The Late Night Show with Stephen Colbert” and donned a cerulean cashmere sweater, much like Hathaway’s character, Andy. According to Vogue, it was a customized J. Crew piece, styled by Micaela Erlanger.

“That monologue is so smart and funny — it reminds you that what feels personal is actually part of a much bigger story, which is why ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ still resonates,” the model’s artistic director, Olympia Gayot, who designed the sweater, mentioned in an announcement, per the outlet.
Cerulean is at present trending

A number of days earlier than Streep’s look, Hathaway’s stylist, Ashley Afriyie, reportedly shared a photograph of the actress rocking a white hoodie with a colorblock on the again of it, studying “cerúleo.”
In the 2006 movie, Priestley, Runway journal editor-in-chief, emphasizes that the colour of her assistant Andy’s sweater “is not just blue,” including, “it’s not turquoise. It’s not lapis.”
It’s a coloration that Crayola shared has resonated with different generations, making it the nation’s favorite color in 2025.
Designers, together with Tory Burch, Ashlyn, and Loewe, have debuted cerulean items of their 2026 Spring/Summer collections, Harper’s Bazaar reported.
So, do not be shocked whenever you see fashionistas sporting it so as to add a splash to their wardrobe this season.
