A taxi driver has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting demise by drug driving after a pedestrian was struck by a personal rent automotive in Liverpool and died.
A 26-year-old woman was hit by a Toyota Voxy taxi on the city-bound carriageway of Aigburth Road, between Fulwood Road and Larkfield Road, Merseyside Police stated.
She was taken to hospital, the place she was pronounced useless. Her household have been knowledgeable.
A 41-year-old man, who was driving the taxi and stopped on the scene, is being questioned in police custody on suspicion of inflicting demise by careless or thoughtless driving while below the affect of medication.
Det Sgt Andy Roper stated: “First and foremost my thoughts and those of my team remain with the woman’s family at this sad time.
“Road demise causes devastation for all these concerned and it’s our absolute precedence to get solutions for her household.”
He said the force was examining CCTV from the area, and appealed for witnesses, adding: “Aigburth Road is a really busy highway and we all know at the moment there would have been a big quantity of automobiles together with buses, taxis and supply drivers, along with pedestrians, in the world.”
