Matt Lucas reveals secret health diagnosis as he admits ‘I’ve never spoken about this publicly’

MATT Lucas has revealed a secret health diagnosis that he has “never spoken about publicly”.

The Little Britain star, 52, has been on our screens for many years and is one among our greatest identified stars.

But Matt has now revealed there’s one thing hardly anybody is aware of about him.

Speaking to Romesh Ranganathan on BBC Radio 2, Matt mentioned: “I’ve never, ever spoken about this publicly, however I’m autistic.

“So I enjoy periods of being very sociable, like you are in the theatre, and then I also enjoy those periods of solitude where I can just write on my own.”

Fellow funnyman Romesh requested: “Do you find that you need to recharge each battery, like you’re kind of flitting between those two things?”

Matt replied: “Yeah, and so on my days off, you know you do theatre six days a week, and on my day off, apart from resting and resting my voice and all of that, on my day off I like not to see people and give them a break from me, but just to have that recharge time is quite important to me.”

As nicely as his TV work, Matt repeatedly seems in theatre productions and has additionally written two novels.

He advised Romesh he is engaged on his third which is “for adults”, including: “The first two had been for kids, and it’s quite a long haul. I know what I want my fourth novel to be.”

Another ambition of Matt’s is to play Mrs. Lovett, the killer’s pie-making confederate in Sweeney Todd.

He defined: “I’ve never seen it played by a man before. I don’t know if the Sondheim estate would permit it.”

And when he’s older, the star want to play Tevye, the primary character in Fiddler on the Roof.
