NEW YORK – A wet forecast has prompted the Yankees to push again the beginning of Sunday afternoon’s scheduled 1:35 p.m. game towards the Kansas City Royals.
The gates opened to followers with legitimate tickets at midday.
According to a Yankees’ assertion, “please be advised that we do not anticipate starting today’s game on time due to the current forecast of inclement weather. We will provide an update as more information is received.”
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Stadium operations personnel will meet again at 12:30 p.m., hopefully providing an approximate time for Sunday’s first pitch.
“Right now, it looks like we’ll most likely be in a delay,” mentioned Boone. “But we should be in good shape to play…it looks like it does clear out.”
