Why Jon Hamm Says He Wouldn’t Return for a ‘Mad Men’ Reboot

Actor Jon Hamm is not all that inquisitive about a Mad Men reboot.

In a March 2026 interview with Extra TV, Hamm, who performed ’60s Creative Director Don Draper all through the AMC present’s seven-season run, shared his ideas concerning the collection probably getting a reboot someday sooner or later.

“Oh god. I don’t know. If they do it, it certainly won’t be with me. I think I’ve aged out of playing Don,” stated the 55-year-old to the publication.

He then stated he loved how the collection ended for Don, Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss), Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser), Betty Draper (January Jones), and Roger Sterling (John Slattery).

“I was very pleased how the show ended. I thought it was a very complete book end to not only Don’s experience in life, but also, you know, Peggy and Pete and Betty and and Roger. Everybody had kind of a nice ending to their story, so I’d hate to open that box back up and ruin it,” stated the Bridesmaid actor.

Jon Hamm Has Been Rewatching ‘Mad Men’

While Hamm would not appear to wish to movie a Mad Men reboot, he is been revisiting the acclaimed collection. During a March 2026 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hamm revealed that he and his spouse Anna Osceola, 37, have been rewatching the present collectively. According to Hamm, watching his performances on Mad Men is “very wild.”

“That was 20 years ago. I was 35 years old, you know, when all that came out. So, it’s bizarre to kind of go through it again,” stated Hamm to Entertainment Tonight.

He clarified that he is been having fun with the present, which resulted in 2015.

“It’s a pretty good show. I got to say, I like it. But it’s been a really fun experience too, and a kind of a time travel experience to really see it again. But, it’s been really fun,” stated Hamm whereas talking to the publication.
