Teddi Mellencamp has a brand new man in her life.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum just lately revealed she has began relationship an older man amid her ongoing stage 4 cancer journey.
“We’re going to call him Derek,” Teddi coyly teased followers throughout the April 8 episode of her and Tamra Judge‘s Two Ts in a Pod podcast earlier than later including, “He’s older than I am.”
And while the 44-year-old—who shares kids Slate, 12, Cruz, 11, and Dove, 6, with ex Edwin Arroyave—didn’t reveal the identity of her mystery suitor, she did note that his college-aged kids still live at home, making their situation a little more complicated.
“That’s the thing when you’re dating and you’re both parents,” Teddi shared. “Like, how are you ever supposed to get past first base? I have kids in my house. He has kids in his house.”
However, she emphasized it’s still too early to breach how they’ll navigate the more intimate details.
“These are the things that I haven’t brought up on these dates,” she explained. “I’m taking it slow with him. Normally that hasn’t been my past.”
As for how the man in question reacted to Teddi’s ongoing health troubles over a year after she was diagnosed with tumors in her brain and lungs?
“He’s pretty good about it,” the Bravo alum acknowledged. “He’s a relatively positive and logical person in general.”

“But the thing that I like the most about him,” she continued, “is he makes me laugh.”
But after a recent date night at Craig’s in West Hollywood followed by drinks at a speakeasy, Teddi admitted she may have pushed herself over her limit as she’s still receiving immunotherapy treatments.
“I was like, ‘I actually have enough energy right now,'” she recounted telling her date, “Then I woke up this morning and I felt like hell.”
And while Teddi continues playing the field in her love life, her medical prognosis continues to improve.
In October, the daughter of John Mellencamp—who was initially given 50/50 survival odds by her doctors—shared that “no detectable cancer” was discovered on her scans after mind surgical procedure to take away the tumors and follow-up therapies.
