CULLMAN, Ala. – With extreme climate attainable across north Alabama, residents are inspired to know the place their nearest storm shelter is earlier than storms arrive.
According to the Cullman County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), all shelters open when a twister watch or warning is issued and shut as soon as the risk passes (except for the Jones Chapel shelter, which is all the time open).
