Shortly after midnight a fight broke out on Fayetteville Street between two teams of individuals.
Police say a number of folks have been stabbed in the course of the altercation.
Six adults have been taken to the hospital with critical, however non-life-threatening accidents, police stated.
Several others have been arrested on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and WRAL is working to study extra.
