Sarah Pidgeon is in talks to hitch Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal in Honeymoon With Harry for Amazon MGM Studios.
Pidgeon is coming off a star turn as Carolyn Bessette in Ryan Murphy’s FX collection Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. Her different credit embody Sony’s I Know What You Did Last Summer, David Siegel’s The Friend, and performing the function of Diana in the Broadway manufacturing of Stereophonic.
Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are directing Honeymoon With Harry from a script by Dan Fogelman. The trio was behind the dramedy Crazy, Stupid, Love and labored collectively on the Fogelman-created Hulu collection Paradise. Amazon MGM earlier landed the rights to the long-in-the-works function dramedy, and set Costner and Gyllenhaal to star.
The movie, based mostly on the e book by Bart Baker, follows “a rough-around-the-edges man who ends up sharing an unwanted journey with his fiancée’s prickly, overprotective father after a life-altering turn upends their plans. Against the backdrop of an island honeymoon, the two men clash and bicker before gradually uncovering an unexpected bond in this emotional dramedy,” in keeping with a logline from the producers.
Gyllenhaal’s character goes on the honeymoon together with his would-be father-in-law, performed by Costner, after his fiancée dies two days earlier than their wedding ceremony. Producer credit on Honeymoon With Harry are shared by Fogelman, Mike Karz and Jennifer Salke. The movie will mark Salke’s first undertaking with Amazon MGM and her producing debut beneath her Sullivan Street Productions banner.
