“I perceive I may have addressed you guys sooner, but it surely was essential to me to have a dialog with the gamers, which I did yesterday, very candidly as we started our off season program, which everybody is worked up to be part of. Stacey had talked about the gamers’ availability, and it was by no means my intention to have them communicate to you or deal with you earlier than I did. And so I requested him to return as we speak and discuss with you. I additionally don’t wish to take away from our, you already know, the draft, the weekend of the draft. This is a crucial time for us, our group, and the joy and the enjoyment that these gamers are going to have that we carry onto our soccer workforce. They’re beginning an incredible journey, one which needs to be celebrated as we welcome them onto our workforce.
“With that being said, I’ve had some difficult conversations with people that I care about, with my family, the organization, the coaches, the players. Those have been positive and productive. I believe in order to be successful on and off the field, you have to make good decisions. That includes me. That starts with me. We never want our actions to negatively affect the team. We never want to be the cause of distraction. These are comments and questions that I’ve answered for the team and with the team, we’ll keep those private and to ourselves. I care deeply about this football team and excited to coach them. I also know that I’m going to attack each day with humility and focus. And what I can promise you is that my family, this organization, the team, the staff, the coaches, everybody, our fans, most importantly, will get the best version of me going forward. And that’s what I know. And I’m excited to do that, but I wanted to, one, just address this, and thank you for your patience in dealing with the private and personal matter.”

Vrabel went on to say that gamers did have questions for him after he addressed the workforce on Monday, when gamers arrived for the beginning of the Patriots’ offseason exercise program.
