The NBA introduced on Monday that it’s accepted the sale of the Portland Trail Blazers to a group led by Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon.
Per the league, the sale is anticipated to shut this week. Dundon will function the staff’s governor.
Dundon reached an agreement to purchase the team from the property of late owner Paul Allen in August. Per a number of experiences, that staff is being offered at a $4.25 billion valuation.

Allen, who co-founded Microsoft, beforehand owned the Trail Blazers from 1988 till his death in 2018. He purchased the team for $70 million in 1988. The staff has since been run by his his property, which is managed by his sister, Jody Allen.
Allen’s will dictated that the staff be offered after his demise and for the proceeds to go towards philanthropic ventures. Now that sale is closing and accepted by the NBA. It’s not clear what philanthropic efforts the proceeds will help.
