Nationally-Ranked Furman Too Much for Women’s Tennis Saturday

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Going up in opposition to a proficient Furman Unvierstiy squad, the Belmont University ladies’s tennis group was swept on the highway Saturday on the Paladins’ Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, South Carolina. After dropping the doubles level, the Bruins (1-9) had been unable to win greater than 4 mixed video games in any match throughout their singles lineup.
 
Nationally-ranked Furman (7-3) took a 1-0 lead within the match with a 6-1 win on the high doubles spot and a 6-2 triumph at No. 2 doubles. Senior Libbie Hamilton and freshman Ketevan Jeladze trailed the Paladins’ Lily Doherty and Macy Hitchcock 4-2 at third doubles.
 
Furman’s high doubles duo of Lillie Murphy and Elle Warren are ranked thirty fourth within the nation in keeping with the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings.
 
Redshirt freshman Savannah Webster fell in a 6-1, 6-3 affair on the No. 1 singles spot to the Paladins’ Warren, it was probably the most video games any Bruin received.
 
Furman was convincingly victorious in straight units on all six singles courts.
