Jersey Jerry took house his third straight “Lib of the Year” trophy at Barstool Sports’ Takies — but it surely was the shock presenters who stole the present.
The video posted to X by Barstool Sports, confirmed Hunter Biden and his father, former president Joe Biden, presenting Jersey Jerry with the Takies’ “Lib of the Year” award. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy shared a clip of the second on X on Friday, July 24, captioning it, “I gasped.”
The “Lib of the Year” award is offered every year throughout the Takies, a spoof awards present featured on Pardon My Take, Barstool Sports’ flagship comedy podcast hosted by Dan “Big Cat” Katz and PFT Commenter. The joke is that Jersey Jerry is brazenly conservative, making his repeated wins as the present’s “top liberal” deliberately ironic.
Jersey Jerry, whose actual title is Gerard Gilfone, is a former union pipefitter who turned a Barstool Sports persona and hosts the Jerry After Dark YouTube channel. According to Sportskeeda, he went viral in 2025 after sinking a hole-in-one on a golf simulator following 2,627 makes an attempt over greater than 36 hours. He now cohosts Wake Up Barstool on FS1.
Last July, Democratic politician and former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg presented the award through recorded video. This 12 months, that three-peat arrived courtesy of the Bidens.

In the clip, Hunter seemed into the digital camera and stated, “From one brother to another in recovery, congratulations on the Lib of the Year award, I know you didn’t have much competition but I’m still proud of you. We’re both proud of you.” He then panned the digital camera to point out his father sitting beside him. “Hey Jerry, congratulations man and keep the faith,” Joe stated.
Jersey Jerry appeared visibly surprised in his response to the honor. “That is history,” he stated, including, “The president knows who I am.”
He continued, “It started to hit me. I mean that’s kind of respect there. That’s big time. Alright, sleepy Joe, thank you brother.”
