MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The founder of Varsity Spirit has died.
Varsity is the biggest cheer group within the nation and is headquartered in Memphis.
Varsity posted to Instagram Thursday confirming the loss of its founder, Jeff Webb.
A cheerleading information group reported Webb died after a fall throughout a sporting exercise and was within the hospital.
Webb constructed what would develop into the biggest group in cheerleading, launching Varsity Spirit within the Seventies and increasing it to a multi-billion greenback enterprise, creating competitions, camps and extra.
He’s credited with shaping the construction of aggressive cheerleading.
Jeff Webb was 76 years outdated.
