JCPS superintendent explains occasional driver, denies having a dedicated chauffeur | Local News

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Questions have circulated on-line about whether or not Jefferson County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Brian Yearwood has a private driver paid for by JCPS. 

Yearwood stated he doesn’t have a dedicated driver however sometimes is pushed to conferences.

“Occasionally if I’m going to a meeting where there are parking issues or something like that, then yes, someone will take me there,” stated Dr. Brian Yearwood, JCPS superintendent.

“But as far as a driver bringing me to work and from work, no, there’s nothing like that.”

Yearwood stated the worker who sometimes drives him works for the district and has assisted a number of superintendents through the years.

“He’s done this for multiple superintendents,” stated Yearwood.

“It was a natural part of being able to navigate Louisville, especially being new to the city, and making sure I can get to meetings in a timely manner.”
