The Houston Texans exercised the fifth-year option for C.J. Stroud final week, a largely procedural transfer that locks the quarterback down for the subsequent two seasons.
General supervisor Nick Caserio underscored that the transfer would not say something extra in regards to the quarterback than the Texans’ plan to proceed constructing round him.
“I don’t really think that affects his future. He’s our quarterback,” Caserio mentioned Monday, through the workforce’s official transcript. “We’ve said that from the beginning. DeMeco (Ryans) and I have both said it. I think that was really more of a procedural thing. I don’t want to say it was a no-brainer, but it was kind of a no-brainer, so we’re glad he’s here. Again, it’s more of a part of the process.
“So, we’re enthusiastic about his offseason. I feel he is had a good strategy, had a good angle right here. I feel he is put a lot of work in from, I’d say, March and April. I’m so excited to have him round right here within the spring and I’m excited to maintain transferring ahead.”
