Egypt is investigating the supply of Wednesday’s drone attack on its Mediterranean port of Damietta, its prime minister stated Friday.
In a press convention, Mostafa Madbouly stated the attack occurred at 2:20 p.m. native time when a fireplace broke out aboard two adjoining vessels, together with one of Egypt’s floating regasification items (FSRU) that receives liquefied pure gasoline (LNG) and converts it again into pure gasoline for the nationwide grid.
Madbouly stated the FSRU was moored subsequent to an LNG storage vessel that Egypt maintains as a strategic reserve succesful of supplying the nationwide gasoline community when wanted.

Madbouly stated army, police and safety businesses carried out a complete forensic investigation and that specialist groups boarded the vessel to look at what he described because the stays of the drone concerned in the attack.
“Up to this moment, no party has officially claimed responsibility for the incident,” he added. “There are speculations and opinions, but the state does not rely on speculation or unverified claims.”
A joint safety job pressure is continuous to investigate the incident to find out the origin of the attack and assess Egypt’s response, he added.
On Thursday, Iran’s international minister hinted in a put up on social media that the attack was an Israeli “false flag” operation, with out giving any proof.
