What have the Eagles added on this free company interval? How they carry out on the subject will inform the story, however the gamers the group added are actually a part of the puzzle General Manager/Executive Vice President Howie Roseman is piecing collectively. Here, previous to his journey to the NFL Annual Meeting in Arizona, Roseman provides insight to Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro on a few of the newest Eagles …

On signing CB Riq Woolen: “One look at Riq and you can see what kind of physical tools he has in his body. Obviously, unusual size and speed, and he has had success in the NFL. And he has had moments where you can see that he could use some improvement. When you have an opportunity to bring in somebody who has a unique physical skill set, who has shown he can compete at the highest levels, it’s just a great opportunity for us to get our coaching staff, to get our performance staff, get our people around someone to help him get back to the level at which we’ve seen him play.”

On signing OLB Arnold Ebiketie: “He’s a guy that we had done a lot of work on during that 2022 NFL Draft, as we had done with Riq Woolen. We had a good feel for the person, and we had a good feel for the qualities of the player, and we’ve seen him in the NFL and we’ve seen how that skill set has translated at this level. What he does can fit in what we try to do in our defense. We’re adding an edge rusher who has had production. He was in a system in Atlanta that was similar to ours, and he had back-to-back seasons of six quarterback sacks in 2023 and 2024. He knows the area. He’s a high-character guy and is still young and he has room to grow to reach his ceiling.”

On including Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore to the WR room: “You cannot speak about Hollywood with out speaking about pace. We’ve had pace right here, and we have tried to domesticate that pace in quite a lot of methods – DeVonta (Smith). A.J. (Brown), Jahan (Dotson) all are quick they usually have totally different talent units and we gained a Super Bowl with that group. With Hollywood, groups are going to must respect that vertical means. He can take the high off the protection. One of Jalen Hurts’ strengths is throwing the deep ball, so we’re excited to see Jalen and Hollywood develop collectively. Hollywood additionally has lower-body flexibility and will get out and in of his breaks nicely, so he isn’t only a one-dimensional receiver.

“Elijah is a guy we liked coming into the NFL, and we have some people in our building who have been with him in the league. I think he would say that, for him, the first few years of his career haven’t gone how he envisioned, so we’re going to give him an opportunity to compete and utilize his skill set and see where it goes.”

On including Andy Dalton to the QB room: “We always like to have three quarterbacks, and this is a philosophy that goes back a long way here. We want to make sure that we have three guys here who can go in and play the most important position in sports. Last year we had Sam Howell to add to Tanner (McKee) and Jalen and in 2024 we had Kenny (Pickett) along with Tanner and Jalen. We want to have a three-deep look if possible, in the quarterback room. You can never have enough depth at that position. Obviously, Andy has had a lot of success in the NFL. He has tremendous character. He will be a great addition to that room.”

On signing TE Johnny Mundt: “What Johnny Mundt does is help us in a very important way with our run game and he can do other things too. He has experience in this system that we’re evolving towards. He can accentuate the skill sets of Dallas and Grant and the others that we have in that room.”

On including RB Dameon Pierce: “Sometimes you get into free agency and you remember your passion for guys in the draft process. You remember your passion for guys as you’ve watched them from afar. Dameon is that kind of guy. The mentality that he runs with, the physicality, you notice that. We have watched him and kept our eyes on him throughout his career and we’re adding him to our running back room, one that we think is one of the strengths of this football team.”
