Hooker performed at Tennessee from 2021-22 after transferring from Virginia Tech. He was chosen by Detroit within the third spherical (No. 68 general) of the 2023 NFL draft.
Hooker appeared in 13 video games in 2021. He accomplished 206-of-303 passing makes an attempt, totaling 2,945 passing yards, 31 passing touchdowns and three interceptions, whereas recording 620 speeding yards and 5 speeding touchdowns on 167 makes an attempt.
