Gal Gadot not to return as Wonder Woman, wishes next actress best

Actress Gal Gadot seems to be achieved along with her role as DC hero Wonder Woman, telling ScreenRant in an interview that she hadn’t had any discussions with both director James Gunn or DC Studios about returning, and giving a message to the next Wonder Woman.

“This is such an incredible character that so many of us care about so much, so whoever it’s going to be to portray her, I wish for her that she enjoys this amazing ride with this amazing character,” Gadot stated.

“I’m just grateful that I was granted the opportunity to wear her boots and celebrate this incredible character and everything she stands for,” Gadot added.

In whole, Gadot appeared as Wonder Woman in six movies, along with her final appearances being cameos in Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash three years in the past.  

While a 3rd Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot was greenlit in 2020, the DC Universe started a reset in 2022 led by Gunn and Peter Safran. The third Wonder Woman film did not match their plan and was canceled.

DC’s new line-up of flicks left behind many acquainted faces. Neither Henry Cavill nor Jason Momoa returned to play their titular characters, Superman and Aquaman. Momoa later returned as a special character in DC’s new motion pictures.

Gadot appeared hopeful in 2023, telling Flaunt that Gunn and Safran informed her on the time they might develop a 3rd Wonder Woman film along with her and that she had “nothing to worry about.”

However, even as a brand new Wonder Woman reboot is being written by Supergirl author Ana Nogueira, Gadot stated she hadn’t mentioned returning.
