FAMU to formerly install Marva Johnson as 13th president on April 21 | News

TALLAHASSEE — Florida A&M University (FAMU) has introduced the investiture of the 13^th president, Marva B. Johnson, J.D. The investiture ceremony and accompanying occasions will happen April 20–21.

With the theme “FAMU Forward, Advancing Excellence,” the celebration will convene college students, alumni, school, employees, neighborhood leaders, and nationwide stakeholders to formally install Johnson.

“It is both an honor and a profound responsibility to serve as president of Florida A&M University,” mentioned Johnson. “This investiture is not simply a celebration of leadership, but a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to excellence, innovation, and the success of every student we serve. Together, we move FAMU forward.”

Before turning into FAMU’s president, she was Group Vice President of State Government Affairs at Charter Communications, the place she led efforts to convey broadband connectivity to underserved communities throughout 9 southern states.

Johnson holds a Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law, an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University.
