CARY, N.C. (WTVD) — A Cary girl’s family and friends are making an pressing plea for help because the search continues for Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, who disappeared whereas on a visit to Grenada.
Grenadian authorities are asking for help finding Waddell, who her family stated went lacking Wednesday after taking place to the water close to Grand Anse Beach for a swim.
Friends say they’re staying robust and hoping for the perfect as search efforts proceed.
“She’s an amazing person, and we want to bring her home,” stated Amanda Romano-Harmon, a family good friend of Waddell’s. “It seems that she went down to the pier and left her towel on the pier and went for a swim.”
Romano-Harmon and her husband, Shawn, have identified Waddell and her husband, Cailen, for many years. Their husbands had been faculty roommates, and the households just lately went tenting collectively.
She described Waddell as adventurous, free-spirited and somebody who simply related with others.
“She’ll see kids playing in the park as she’s walking or exercising or whatever, and she’ll start kicking the ball with them. Everybody’s a friend for Liz,” Romano-Harmon stated.
The bond between the 2 households runs deep, Romano-Harmon stated.
“Our daughter is 16, and she refers to them as her aunt and uncle, because we’re just that close,” Romano-Harmon stated.
Romano-Harmon stated she and her husband had been on a piece journey earlier this week after they discovered about her disappearance.
“The tone was getting a lot more serious. And he was getting a little bit upset, and, he got off the phone, and he said, that was Cailen. Liz went missing at noon today,” Romano-Harmon stated.
Friends stated Cailen Waddell has praised Grenadian authorities for their efforts through the search.
Now, family and friends are asking anybody with info to return ahead.
“If you have any, any information, no detail is too small. We are trying not to leave any stone unturned,” Romano-Harmon stated.
Romano-Harmon stated her husband plans to journey to Grenada on Monday to help Cailen Waddell with search efforts.
