Duff Goldman and Wife Johnna Welcome Their Second Baby (Exclusive)

Duff Goldman’s household is rising!

The Food Network star and his spouse, Johnna, welcomed their second baby, a boy named Samurai Jack, on Tuesday, March 31. The new child weighed in at 7 lbs., 5 oz.

“I am literally the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire life at this moment,” he tells PEOPLE, including that the newborn has been “sleeping a little” and “eating a bunch.”

Goldman, 51, and Johnna, 32, tied the knot in 2019, and are additionally mother and father to five-year-old daughter, Josephine.

“I think that I’m most excited about, you know, getting a shot at just raising a real good little man,” Duff says of elevating his first son.

Josephine has been “so excited” to develop into an enormous sister, he provides.

“Leading up to Sam being born, she was, like, making piles of all her stuffies that she wanted to give him and drawing him little pictures to hang in his room,” Duff says. “I was, like, building the crib and she wanted to put stuff in there and she wants to put books on this bookshelf.”

When Josephine first met Sam, the proud dad says she was “a little tentative.”

“It was amazing for me, like, just seeing her face when she was, like, confronted with, like, a real little person that was the size of one of her dolls and, you know, she, like, didn’t wanna hurt him or break him,” he remembers. However, after she noticed Sam cuddling with certainly one of her plush toys, she “planted a big old kiss right on his forehead.”

Duff calls Josephine a “strong-willed, opinionated, confident young lady,” including, “She runs the house, man, you know? She’s like Louise on Bob’s Burgers.” 

In truth, the animated sitcom, which is a household favourite, even held a particular place in Sam’s beginning.

“That’s our show,” Duff says, explaining that he and Johnna have been watching it when she went into labor.

“The hospital doesn’t have a lot of options for TV, but Bob’s Burgers was on,” he says. “That’s, like, our wind-down present. So earlier than mattress, we’ll watch an episode or two of Bob’s Burgers with Josephine, and she’ll go to mattress. …. And Bob’s Burgers was on tv when type of every little thing began taking place and no person thought to show it off. And our son was born to an episode of Bob’s Burgers. It was the ‘Reeky Lake’ episode. ”

The culinary star additionally reveals the newborn’s title isn’t named after the TV character followers may assume.

“We didn’t name our son after Samurai Jack, the cartoon,” Duff insists, including that he’s a “huge fan” of the collection’ creator, Genndy Tartakovsky.

“It just kind of worked out that way,” he says. “When I was a kid, the coolest dude that we knew when I was younger, his name was Sam. He was the first one to build a skateboard ramp of all of our friends. He was the best skater. He was the best surfer. He always threw the biggest tricks.”

“And I was like, ‘I’m gonna name my son Sam, because Sam’s a cool name,’” he says. “And I used to be like, ‘What if as a substitute of, like, Samuel, or Sam, his precise title on his beginning certificates was Samurai?” 

The famed pastry chef announced that they have been anticipating in an Instagram post on Nov. 27.

“Oh boy! @johnnapgoldman has another bun in the oven! I think Josephine is going to be the best big sister ever,” Goldman captioned a photograph that confirmed him placing a hand to Johnna’s stomach.

Johnna shared an identical snap with the caption, “I feel so extra grateful for my healthy, happy, growing family! Baby Goldman number 2 coming Spring 2026! .”

The couple incessantly doc candy household moments on social media, reminiscent of Josephine posing in an adorable Halloween costume Duff made or taking part in with a brood of ducklings they took in.

And in fact, Duff has baked loads of particular treats for his daughter, together with a “brain cake” she requested for her fourth birthday and a flawlessly adorned batch of Valentine’s Day cookies for her preschool class.

Johnna praised the Ultimate Baking Championship star’s parenting abilities in a Father’s Day tribute final June, writing that Goldman stepped into his position as a dad “so seamlessly it must be written in the stars” for him.

“The Father that is a world famous chef, yet makes ‘toat’ and fruit for every meal, every day because the love of his life is 4. The Father that has been a tremendous example of what a loving Man, Husband and Father should be,” she wrote. “I cannot reiterate enough that we are so effing lucky. We love you sweet (bad) dada! You’re our best.”

In March 2025, Duff shared an anecdote with PEOPLE about Josephine requesting he construct a particular shelf in her room beneath her window in order that her stuffed animals may see her when she bought house from college.

“There was something about the fact that she was able to visualize what she wanted, because I do the same thing,” he mentioned. “I do it in my head a lot, and my daughter did it, and I was so proud of her for being able to just sort of design this thing in her head and then tell me what she wanted and articulate it.”
