“Scary Movie” director David Zucker is weighing in on Marlon Wayans‘ declare that Harvey and Bob Weinstein stole the franchise … telling TMZ this sort of factor occurs in Hollywood on a regular basis, and in his view it is simply a part of the enterprise.
We caught up with David in L.A. Thursday, and whereas he says he doesn’t know each element of the scenario, he defended a studio’s proper to make inventive choices … pointing to his personal expertise together with his “Naked Gun” franchise.
ICYMI, Marlon accused the Weinstein brothers of swiping the unique “Scary Movie” idea — which began as a Wayans household thought again in 2000 — with the studio Miramax claiming it and working with the concept, persevering with to make sequels with out their involvement.
David tells us by the point he stepped in to direct “Scary Movie 3,” all that drama had already gone down … so he has nothing to do with all of it!
And with “Scary Movie 6” now on the best way, David says he’s checked out the trailer — and he’s obtained some ideas on the comedy franchise’s newest chapter!
