Beijing slammed on Monday an EU plan aimed to bolster the bloc’s industries in opposition to fierce competitors from China, vowing countermeasures whether it is enacted.
The EU unveiled in March new “Made in Europe” guidelines for corporations attempting to entry public funds in strategic sectors together with cars, inexperienced tech and steel, obliging companies to fulfill minimal thresholds for EU-made components.

European companies in most of the sectors involved by the proposal have lengthy lamented they face unfair competitors from closely subsidised Chinese rivals.
The EU proposal, formally often called the “Industrial Accelerator Act”, implicitly targets Chinese makers of batteries and electrical autos by requiring international companies to companion with European companies and go on technological know-how when organising store in the bloc.
