Belichick sued by painter who alleges he was injured at Nantucket home

A painter who alleges he was injured whereas working at a Nantucket home owned by Bill Belichick is suing the previous Patriots coach for almost $300,000, data present.

Andrew Jackson filed a civil lawsuit in Nantucket Superior Court towards a Massachusetts company, Forty Five Fair Street LLC, that lists Belichick because the supervisor, in accordance with court docket data.

In court docket papers, Jackson alleges he was engaged on the premises of the downtown home in June 2024 when he slipped on plastic sheeting and injured his proper ankle.

“At the direction of the homeowner, general contractor, and/or agents acting on their behalf, construction practices created an unsafe work area for workers at the premises,” the lawsuit alleges. The Nantucket Current beforehand reported the lawsuit.

Jackson, who in accordance with court docket papers lives in Mississippi, mentioned the unsafe circumstances included “the placement, use, and/or maintenance of plastic sheeting or coverings.”

“As a direct result of said dangerous and unsafe conditions, [Jackson] slipped and fell while at the premises,” the lawsuit alleged.

Jackson mentioned the harm has value him about $300,000 in misplaced wages and medical payments.

After 24 years with the Patriots, Belichick took over as head coach at the University of North Carolina. The Tar Heels notched just four wins last year, his first season.

No one has responded to the civil lawsuit on behalf of the LLC or Belichick as of Monday. Belichick couldn’t instantly be reached for remark.

Belichick paid $4.8 million for the single-family home, the Globe reported in May 2024.

Belichick usually spends the offseason at his compound in Sconset, on the japanese shore of the island. It’s the place he was hunkered down during the 2020 NFL draft, when everybody needed to work remotely due to the pandemic.
