A Baltimore Police officer and a suspect had been shot Tuesday afternoon in Northwest Baltimore. According to Mayor Brandon Scott, it occurred “during a barricade situation at a residence.”
The incident occurred within the 6200 block of Park Heights Avenue, close to the Agudath Israel of Baltimore synagogue, round 12:30 p.m.
A witness instructed WJZ that they noticed officers run to a house on that block and heard a single gunshot.
The injured officer was taken to Shock Trauma. The situation of the suspect is at present unclear.
The Baltimore Police union stated it was conscious of the taking pictures and stated, “all involved members are in good spirits.”
Scott introduced on X that he was at Shock Trauma to test on the injured officer. “The brave men and women of BPD put their lives on the line every day to build a better, safer Baltimore,” he stated. “As the situation develops, our hearts are with this officer, their family, and the entire department.”
The Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division can be on the scene. The company is tasked with investigating use of power and police concerned taking pictures incidents throughout the state.
