Ashton Daniels was formally named the Florida State starting quarterback Tuesday, after a contest with Kevin Sperry this spring.
Daniels, a switch from Auburn, arrived in January with the expectation that he would finally begin, however Sperry pushed him over 15 practices this spring. When the Seminoles wrapped up observe final week, coach Mike Norvell stated he was not prepared but to call a starter.

Florida State is wanting for consistency on the quarterback place after transfers DJ Uiagalelei (2024) and Tommy Castellanos (2025) every struggled of their respective seasons as starters.
Daniels started his profession at Stanford, the place he began for two seasons earlier than going to Auburn final season.
