Arsenal are more and more confident of signing Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle United following the exit of supervisor Eddie Howe, sources have advised ESPN’s James Olley.
Guimarães has emerged as one of Arsenal’s major targets this summer time with Mikel Arteta seeking to strengthen his squad as they put together to defend their Premier League title.
Sources have told ESPN that Howe is set to leave Newcastle, whereas Anthony Gordon has joined Barcelona and Sandro Tonali has moved to Tottenham in one other summer time of important outgoings for the north-east membership.
Howe’s departure has made Arsenal much more optimistic they’ll make a deal for Guimarães. A payment has not been agreed, however sources advised ESPN {that a} transfer in extra of £70 million ($94m) is predicted.
Newcastle had been initially decided to maintain the Brazil midfielder, however have now acknowledged Guimarães’ need to maneuver to the Premier League champions.
