Alabama transfer forward/center Aiden Sherrell introduced his dedication to Indiana basketball immediately.
The 6-foot-11 and 255-pound Sherrell averaged 11.1 factors, 6.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists and a couple of.2 blocks per recreation as a sophomore in 2025-26. He ranked No. 2 within the SEC in blocks and No. 13 in Division I. He recorded 76 blocks, which ranks No. 7 on Alabama’s all-time single season record and led the SEC.
Sherrell’s capturing splits had been 53.8% general, 33.3% from three (on 78 makes an attempt), and 71.4% on the free throw line.
A product of Detroit, Mich., Sherrell has two years of eligibility remaining. He performed prep college basketball for each Wasatch Academy and Prolific Prep.
Sherrell was probably the most coveted gamers within the transfer portal. He is ranked the No. 11 general transfer this cycle by 247Sports, and No. 12 by On3/Rivals. IU has the No. 2 and No. 1 general portal class as of Wednesday afternoon at these retailers, respectively.
He is the fifth transfer portal addition for IU, becoming a member of Samet Yiğitoğlu (SMU), Markus Burton (Notre Dame), Jaeden Mustaf (Georgia Tech) and Darren Harris (Duke).
Indiana has 4 scholarship openings remaining on its 2026-27 roster.
