JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Teens at the Boys and Girls Club of Central Mississippi Sykes Unit obtained a renovated teen room funded by nationwide rent-to-own firm Aaron’s as a part of its Safe Space Initiative.
The unveiling ceremony occurred at the Sykes Unit in Jackson, the place younger members noticed the finished house for the primary time.
Students have been concerned in deciding on the gadgets that now fill the room, together with video video games, arcade basketball hoops, laptops, rugs, televisions, couches, and furnishings.
“I had to go around and, like, rugs, TVs, games, couches, furniture, it all happened. That’s what I asked for,” mentioned Jaylen J., a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Central Mississippi Sykes Unit.
“It looks good, I like it. We are about to have fun,” Jaylen mentioned.
Aaron’s funded the $20,000 renovation mission. The firm additionally offered the membership with a further $10,000 examine designated for sources and programming.
The Jackson mission marks the 69th renovation Aaron’s has accomplished nationwide since 2015.
