The group first arrived on Weir Lane at round 9am this morning (April 25), and have been later noticed outdoors the Oak Apple at round 2pm.
Talking with the Worcester News outdoors The Oak Apple, one of the organisers, Joe (who refused to supply his surname), mentioned: “We are here for a charity event. We are raising money for funeral costs for a baby who recently died. We will be here until about 6pm.”
Residents have reported seeing the group travelling all through Worcester, together with in Weir Lane, London Road, Rainbow Hill, New Road, Cranham Drive, Blackpole, Carrington Bridge, and extra.
Multiple witnesses say the group is being escorted by West Mercia Police.
Speaking on the Oak Apple, one police officer advised the Worcester News that it was an organised occasion and law enforcement officials have been solely there to assist with visitors administration.
Commenting on a Worcester News Facebook put up, Sar Hull mentioned: “All gathered outside the chequers currently, just spoke to one of them and apparently it’s a family event, due to a family member passing and have arranged with four pubs around Worcester to stop outside and raise some money each time they stop.”
Yvette Wiggitt commented: “Was a lovely sight all going up Cranham Drive, those horses and traps. I’m sure they will stop at intervals to give their horses water.”
Sarah Mowbray added: “Just passed them, absolutely beautiful sight, they’re not doing any harm, enjoying the weather with pint horses, absolutely beautiful.”
Carol Roberts mentioned: “I had the pleasure of seeing hundreds of these horses developing the ring highway over the New Bridge.
“It was an unbelievable sight. Quite took my breath away.
“The horses have been immaculately turned out. Yes, it was scorching, however they have been adopted by many horse lorries which might hopefully have buckets and water on board.
“Good to see so many parents and children out together having a special community day.”
