A dramatic rescue at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz was caught on video, displaying a teenage lifeguard battling tough surf to save lots of a younger swimmer.

Vander Dussen stated the boy was evaluated by paramedics earlier than being launched to his dad and mom.
While officers didn’t focus on the particular coaching of the lifeguard concerned, Santa Cruz lifeguards are required to finish at the least 56 hours of lifeguard coaching, 24 hours of medical certification coaching and greater than 80 hours of marine security lifeguard coaching.
