Two lanes are closed between junction 18 for Middlewich and junction 19 for Knutsford this morning, Thursday.
Emergency providers are on the scene.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police stated: “At 8.25am on Thursday, March 19, emergency providers had been referred to as to reviews of a collision the M6 northbound between junctions 18 and 19.
“Highways officers are in attendance on the scene of the incident which includes a car and a LGV.
“There are no reports of any injures and recovery work is underway.”
The delays have been made worse because the Tabley Interchange flyover is closed for emergency repairs.
The flyover is closed this morning, Thursday, however the roundabout stays open.
Work is being carried out on the A556 at junction 19 for Knutsford on the M6.
A spokesman for Highways England stated: “Long delays and two lanes closed attributable to accident on M6 northbound from J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel) to J19 A556 (Knutsford).
“Lanes three and four (Of four) are closed. Delays also not helped by the flyover being closed at J19.”
Drivers are suggested to seek out different routes if potential.
