Two arrested in fentanyl trafficking investigation

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Two individuals have been arrested on drug costs following a two-month investigation, in response to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

Agents with the Brunswick County Vice and Narcotics Unit have been assisted by street patrol deputies and a K-9 deputy at a site visitors cease on Feb. 5.

During the investigation, brokers discovered that 26-year-old Charles Demonte McGhee of Wilmington was allegedly in possession of roughly 12 grams of fentanyl powder.

McGhee was arrested on three counts of trafficking opium or heroin, possession with intent to fabricate, promote or ship a schedule I managed substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tanaisha Renae Pridgen, 23, of Wilmington, was additionally arrested and charged with conspiracy to site visitors opium or heroin, sustaining a automobile, dwelling or place for managed substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both have been processed into the Brunswick County Detention Center. McGhee stays in custody.
