After greater than 35 years because the Island’s primary business radio station, Isle of Wight Radio is making ready to show again the clock with a model new station.
This month, the Newport-based enterprise will launch its model-new sister station, Isle of Wight Radio Retro, bringing a nostalgic soundtrack and the unmistakable attraction of basic native radio to the Island’s airwaves.
Broadcasting on the Island’s new Small Scale DAB multiplex, Isle of Wight Radio Retro will formally go reside this month. Listeners can count on the joys of rediscovering previous favourites, that includes iconic hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, alongside the heat, humour, and character that made native radio so memorable.
Every factor – from jingles to presentation fashion – has been fastidiously designed to evoke fond recollections of radio from a long time previous.
The launch additionally represents a big step ahead for native broadcasting, as Isle of Wight Radio joins the Island’s Small Scale DAB rollout, offering listeners with extra selection and improved digital entry.
