Residents in Brinnginton, Stockport, say they’re ‘unnerved’ after road capturing as six arrests made
Shocked Stockport residents have instructed of the second they heard gunshots fired outdoors their properties – with one saying they later heard screams of ‘he is useless’.
Police mentioned on Saturday a reported ‘disturbance’ in the Brinnington area of Stockport on Thursday night involved a ‘suspected firearms discharge’, however fortunately no accidents were reported. An investigation is underway and 6 arrests have been made.
A resident, who requested to not be named, mentioned they were left shocked after they heard three gunshots and noticed two automobiles driving shortly away from the scene.

It occurred across the Dent Close and Lapwing Lane space at 10.40pm.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, the resident mentioned: “It was really quick. There was shouting in the street, then three pops. I told my boyfriend, ‘I think somebody’s just been shot’.
“He regarded out the window and mentioned ‘yeah, any person’s screaming he is useless’. Then three folks bumped into two automobiles and drove off.
“I’ve never heard a gun before, so at first I was just thinking ‘I think that was a gun’ and then my partner ran to the window to see what was happening. It all happened so fast – he only saw the end of it.
“It was scary when the police got here. CID were right here yesterday, however we’ve not been instructed anything. Some neighbours mentioned they heard it too and were certain it was a gunshot. There were a great deal of folks outdoors.”
Other residents, meanwhile, said the incident ‘unnerved’ them, and how they were worried for their children and grandchildren.
As a part of the investigation, 5 males aged between 17 and 45 were arrested on suspicion of affray and have since been bailed, Greater Manchester Police mentioned.
A spokesperson mentioned: “Further enquiries by the police led to warrants being executed at three properties within the Stockport space within the early hours of Saturday. As a consequence, a 19-year outdated man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and stays in custody.”
Detective Sergeant Kirsty Pierce, from Stockport CID, mentioned: “We perceive incidents of this nature could cause concern throughout the group and, while there are a number of strains of enquiry ongoing, that is believed to be an remoted incident.
“We are currently asking for anyone who has CCTV, has witnessed this incident, or has any other information, to come forward by contacting us on 101 or via our website, quoting incident number 3758 of 09.04.26.
