Former Sunderland striker Marco Gabbiadini says the Black Cats’ lack of squad depth is limiting Regis Le Bris’ energy to vary video games.
After Yakuba Minteh gave Brighton a second-half lead on Saturday, Sunderland couldn’t discover an equaliser and misplaced their third successive sport on the Stadium of Light.
Gabbiadini informed BBC Radio Newcastle: “We’re lacking the final ball at the moment. Our attacking options are so limited.
“It’s laborious for the supervisor. You’re wanting on the bench, you are on the lookout for inspiration from the folks sat behind you.
“We’ve got four young lads on there who’ve not played a Premier League minute.
“We’ve bought huge damage points, a small squad, and so many key gamers lacking that it had an impact.
“In isolation, you’d say it wasn’t too bad – there’s stuff to build on, positive performance. But when it’s your third defeat at home on the bounce, you’re going to look at it in a different light.”
