St David’s Day events to be held across the West Midlands

Sunday marks St David’s Day and the starting of March.

At 14:00, a particular St David’s Day speak will be held at The Brampton Museum in Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire, by Stuart Haywood, the writer of the Welsh in North Staffordshire.

Haywood is the present chairman of The Stoke-on-Trent & District Welsh Society and has undertaken intensive analysis into the migration of Welsh individuals to north Staffordshire, mainly throughout the Victorian period, which was used to compile his ebook.

His presentation will consider the areas inside north Staffordshire the place the migrants settled, their incentives to transfer there, and the way the communities had been arrange.

Also on Sunday, a live performance will be held at Cradley Church in Cradley, Herefordshire, at 15:00, that includes the Malvern Male Voice Choir and the harpist Shelley Fairplay.

Tickets price £18, together with refreshments, with all proceeds shared equally between Cradley Church and Cradley Village Hall.

Finally, a St David’s Day live performance will be held on Saturday 7 March from 19:00 – 21:30, St Oswald’s Church in Oswestry, Shropshire.

This will characteristic the Fron Male Voice Choir joined by Lleisiau’r Afon.
