Sony is raising the value of its PlayStation 5 consoles globally beginning April 2nd. In an announcement on Friday, Sony says that the usual PS5 will now value $649.99, up from $549.99. Meanwhile, the PS5 Digital Edition now prices $599.99 as an alternative of $499.99, and the PlayStation 5 Pro will value $899.99 as an alternative of $749.99.
Along with these adjustments, Sony is growing the value of its PlayStation Portal as properly, going from $199.99 to $249.99.
This is the second time in lower than a 12 months that Sony has raised the value of its PS5 consoles, as the corporate hiked prices by $50 for all three models last August. Sony cites “continued pressures in the global economic landscape” as the explanation for the value hike. “We know that price changes impact our community, and after careful evaluation, we found this was a necessary step to ensure we can continue delivering innovative, high-quality gaming experiences to players worldwide,” Sony says.
