The group says the initiative saves lives by means of early detection and prevention whereas educating the general public about detection and solar safety.

“I think primarily a resource like this is important for people that really don’t have access to a dermatologist,” stated Dr. Nana Duffy of the Schweiger Dermatology Group.

The Skin Cancer Foundation can also be providing free skin cancer screenings in Rochester.

The screenings will likely be out there from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Monday on the Norton Village Park.

Screenings are on a first-come, first-served foundation.
