A taking pictures in Stockport is being investigated by police. A ‘disturbance’ was reported at round 10.40pm on Thursday (April 9) in Brinnington.
Police acquired studies of a ‘suspected firearms discharge’. No accidents had been reported. An investigation is ongoing. A cordon was put up on the street as investigations started.
Since the incident, six arrests have been made. Five males – aged between 17 and 45 – had been arrested on suspicion of affray.

Police stated they had been known as to Dent Close, off Lapwing Lane. It’s understood a cordon was erected on Lapwing Lane.
The individuals arrested have since been bailed, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police stated. Raids had been then carried out at three properties within the Stockport space this morning (Saturday), with a 19-year-old man arrested.
He is custody being questioned on suspicion of possession of a firearm. Police stated the incident was believed to have been ‘remoted’.
Detective Sergeant Kirsty Pierce, from Stockport CID, stated: “We understand incidents of this nature can cause concern within the community and, whilst there are several lines of enquiry ongoing, this is believed to be an isolated incident.
“We are at present asking for anybody who has CCTV, has witnessed this incident, or has another data, to return ahead.”
GMP’s full assertion reads: “Officers had been known as shortly after 10.40pm on Thursday 9 April to an deal with at Dent Close, Lapwing Lane, Brinnington to a disturbance involving studies of a suspected firearms discharge. There had been no accidents reported in relation to the matter and officers are persevering with enquiries as a way to set up the total circumstances of the incident.
“As part of the investigation, five men, aged between 17 and 45 were arrested on suspicion of affray and have since been bailed. Further enquiries led to warrants being executed at 3 properties in the Stockport area in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 11 April), as a result of which a 19-year old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and remains in custody.”
