Sky has confirmed a herd of celeb voices for its upcoming Aardman characteristic Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom.
The third feature-length movie in the beloved youngsters’s franchise is being billed as Shaun’s largest journey but, as the plucky sheep turns “mad scientist” in a bid to revive a ruined pumpkin patch – unsurprisingly, issues “rapidly spiral out of control”.
Nina Sosanya (of Baby Reindeer and Sky’s upcoming War) voices Mossingham’s trusted vet, whereas comedy legend Paul Whitehouse (The Fast Show) performs the native store keeper.
Meanwhile, Capital Breakfast and The One Show favorite Roman Kemp options as a pizza boy, and Love Island winner Dani Dyer takes on the city’s social media-savvy influencer in her first-ever animation voice performing position.
The movie additionally contains a brand-new remix of Shaun the Sheep’s theme tune, Life’s a Treat, by British hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, enjoying over the finish credit.
Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule beforehand re-worked the monitor for the first Shaun the Sheep Movie in 2015; a model credited to Mark Thomas, Vic Reeves and Rizzle Kicks that appeared on that movie’s soundtrack.
Stephens stated: “I’ve proudly said working with Aardman on the Shaun the Sheep soundtrack is one of my best moments. Shaun is just iconic and the song is a real banger.”
Alexander-Sule added: “We grew up watching Wallace and Gromit, so when we were asked to remix Life’s a Treat, it was a very easy decision to make. We had loads of fun in the studio putting a fresh spin on it and I can’t wait to watch the new film with my kids.”
The Beast of Mossy Bottom is written by Mark Burton, whose credit embody Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl and Paddington in Peru, and Giles Pilbrow, and directed by Steve Cox and Matthew Walker.
Last 12 months, Aardman celebrated 30 years since Shaun’s first look in Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave, together with his spin-off animated sequence now broadcast in 170 territories worldwide.
The earlier two Shaun the Sheep movies have been crucial and industrial hits, each incomes nods at the BAFTAs and Academy Awards, so expectations are excessive for this follow-up. Fortunately, Aardman hardly ever misses!
