One bond holder in Cumberland received a £100,000 prize in the March draw.
NS&I says on its web site: “Premium Bonds are entered right into a month-to-month prize draw, with prizes starting from £25 to £1 million.
“You can also buy them as a gift for a child under 16.”
Three different winners throughout the county banked £25,000 every with one in Cumberland and two in Westmorland and Furness.
Another ten people banked £10,000.
The wins have been break up evenly between the 2 council areas with 5 winners in every.
In the subsequent tier down, 23 bond holders received £5,000 every.
Cumberland had 13 of these prizes whereas ten went to Westmorland and Furness.
Most of the area’s wins have been in the £1,000 class.
In complete 145 winners picked up the £1,000 prize throughout the county.
Of these wins, 92 have been in Westmorland and Furness and 53 have been in Cumberland.
