Police have carried out a recent search for victims of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami alongside the coastal waters of Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture.
The search comes forward of the fifteenth anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake that struck northeastern Japan on March 11, 2011.
Police say 1,213 individuals stay unaccounted for in Miyagi Prefecture alone.
More than 10 individuals, together with cops from Ishinomaki Police Station, searched for stays on Ajishima Island and its surrounding waters on Monday.
Before beginning the operation, the searchers turned towards the ocean and noticed a second of silence for the victims.
They dug into the sand and rocks on the seaside, and used a specifically outfitted boat to look for clues beneath water.
They discovered nothing new, however police say the search will proceed.
Chiba Tomohiro, an official on the Ishinomaki Police Station, famous that 15 years have handed for the reason that disaster, and that the circumstances in the world have modified considerably.
But he says they are going to attempt to discover as many clues as doable that might result in finding the victims, as requested by the bereaved households.
