The M621 in Leeds was closed on Friday morning after a woman was hit by a car.
Drivers had been warned the closure could be in place “for some time” following the incident on the clockwise aspect of the motorway, West Yorkshire Police mentioned.
Officers had been known as at 4.50am following studies of a collision with a woman who was “in the carriageway” near junction one for Holbeck on the time.
She suffered critical accidents.
A police spokesperson mentioned: “The incident remains ongoing and a full road closure remains in place on both sides of the carriageway with diversions in place.
“The closure is predicted to be in place for a while and motorists are thanked for his or her endurance whereas essential incident investigation work takes place.”
