TRAFFIC has floor to a halt on two main motorways after a lorry fire erupted – as queues ramp up close to Europe’s greatest airport.
Motorists travelling on the M25 close to Heathrow, West London, have been warned of hour-long delays because of particles on the street.
There is presently six miles of congestion heading anti-clockwise.
Debris had fallen right into a lane between Junction 16, for Slough, and Junction 15, for Heathrow Airport, at round 9am.
National Highways stated: “Traffic was held quickly to clear up some particles which had fallen into reside lane.

Meanwhile, commuters on the M6 are going through 30-minute queues after a lorry fire erupted close to Knutsford, Cheshire, this morning.
Emergency crews had been scrambled to the blaze on the M6 northbound carriageway at round 8am.
Three fire engines rushed to the scene as firefighters battled the flames.
Pictures confirmed back-to-back visitors increase between Junction 18, for Middlewich, and Junction 19, for Knutsford.
Motorists had initially been stopped on either side of the busy route.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue confirmed the lorry driver escaped the automobile safely earlier than crews arrived.
