Loose Women star admits she was ‘never in love’ with husband in bold confession

Jane McDonald has opened up about her marriage to ex-husband Henrik Brixen, admitting she was “the only one” who did not realise she had no emotions for him throughout their five-year marriage

Former Loose Women star an singer Jane McDonald has revealed she was by no means in love with her ex-husband Henrik Brixen.

The songwriter, who has achieved 4 UK high 10 albums, described the selection to finish their marriage as “the best thing he ever did”. Jane and Henrik separated in 2003, after a five-year marriage throughout which he served as her supervisor.

Despite the prolonged relationship, Jane, 62, has admitted she was “the only one” who did not recognise she had no romantic emotions for the Dutch ship plumbing engineer. Speaking on a podcast this week, the TV persona stated: “It’s really strange this, because I should have had the best time of my life. I just got to Vegas, but I knew my marriage was on the brink.

“Everybody may see it and was going, ‘that is not gonna final’. I was the one one who did not see it. But he was an important man, and he did his finest, you understand.”

Jane subsequently rekindled her romance with The Searchers drummer Eddie Rothe and the couple turned engaged. Eddie handed away from lung most cancers on the age of 67 on March 26, 2021, reviews the Mirror.

Looking back on this relationship, Jane told Jessie and Lennie Ware on podcast Table Manners that she continues to think of the musician every day.

Jane had been with Eddie since 2008, approximately five years following her divorce. She said, however, her break up with Henrik was friendly but he found it difficult to “play the sport” in the music business while appearing as her supervisor.

The cruise ship singer, from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, continued: “He did not perceive that it is all a recreation, our enterprise, and it’s a must to play it. I was a membership artist, a cruise ship singer, which was like, we do not permit this in our business. And no one thought for one minute that I might go straight to primary with that album (her first album), no one.

“Not even the record company. It was a shock to everybody. And then my tour sold out massively, which was, you know, another learning curve.

“And I was studying the enterprise with Henrik (her husband and supervisor on the time) alongside the best way. So it was like, cling on a minute. This isn’t tallying up [..] nevertheless it’s a recreation, and it’s a must to play it. And then I bought dropped from my labels, and I assumed, how exhausting can this be? So I did all of it myself. You do not realise that, each artist thinks they want a report firm, and you do not. You simply want a bit of cash.”

The former Loose Women panellist had beforehand revealed in her 2019 autobiography that she started to really feel “lonely” in her marriage, after Henrik dismissed the potential for having kids.
