Lee Anderson has been booted out of the House of Commons after accusing Sir Keir Starmer of “lying”.

Addressing MPs following the Prime Minister’s assertion on Lord Peter Mandelson’s appointment, the Reform UK MP declared Sir Keir “couldn’t lie straight in bed”.


Mr Anderson declared: “The problem is no one believes him. The public don’t believe him.

“The MPs on this aspect of the House do not consider him. His personal gullible backbenchers do not consider him.

“So does the Prime Minister agree with me? He’s been lying.”

Interjecting Mr Anderson, Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle scolded the Reform MP’s use of language.

He acknowledged: “Sorry, we don’t use those words, and I’m sure the member’s withdrawn it?”

Mr Anderson stood agency on his accusation, doubling down on his assertion to the House.
