‘John Proctor is the Villain’ to transfer to the West End

Belflower’s reimagining of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible follows 5 younger ladies from small-town America as they query all the pieces they have been taught about energy, relationships, and girlhood.

Tony Award-winning play John Proctor is the Villain will transfer to the West End subsequent 12 months. Performances will start at Wyndham’s Theatre on 2 February, working by 24 April 2027.

Kimberly Belflower’s play started performances at the Royal Court in London on 20 March, and can finish its run on 25 April. In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, our critic said: “This play makes me want to scream, laugh, cry, and dance. It’s not just a drama: it’s a revolution.”

Belflower and director Danya Taymor stated: “Bringing John Proctor is the Villain to the West End is a true honour and profound joy for us, especially on the heels of its very witchy UK debut in the Royal Court’s 70th anniversary season. The play has been igniting London audiences, and we have fallen deeply in love with this great city. We are so grateful that our spells worked and more people will be able to see the play here—and come back again and again—at the incredible Wyndham’s Theatre in 2027.”
